New Bilingual Identity for HSPnet!
We are proud to announce a new bilingual identify for HSPnet, thanks to a cross-provincial Working Group for HSPnet Language Duality, chaired by the Lucie Lecours, Project Coordinator.

HSPnet Pre-Conference Workshop in November
There will be a half-day workshop for HSPnet users and other interested audiences on Sunday November 4th, before the opening reception of the upcoming Practice Makes Perfect Conference in Vancouver.

HSPnet Recognized in Canadian Nurse Journal
We are delighted that HSPnet and the BCAHC have have been highlighted in the June edition of Canadian Nurse Journal. The article entitled "Overcoming the Challenges of Providing Clinical Practice Education" discusses the barriers and possible strategies of meeting the demand of clinical placements.

HSPnet Announces Newest Member to Join the Team!
A practical guide is now available to support implementation of the HSPnet consent process for students. The guide outlines both a long term approach for future incoming students, plus an interim approach for existing students during the transition period of HSPnet implementation.

NEW Access Level: Student Maintenance
A new type of user ID has been created for staff whose role in HSPnet should be limited to maintenance of students, their contact information, and profile/prerequisites (immunizations, certifications). Local Administrators can setup new users with this access level in the Staff/Users screen, or can change the access level of existing users.

Due to the expansion of HSPnet across Canada, the website address has been changed to www.hspcanada.net to reflect the implementation of Canadian provinces.

Help Desk Response Targets Achieved!
We are pleased to announce that over 93% of email requests to the HSPnet Help Desk in December achieved our response target of 4 hours or less -- in fact 84% of replies were sent less than 2 hours after receipt!

Two New HSPnet Modules Funded
HSPnet is included in two successful funding applications to the Practice Education Innovation Fund. The Capacity Manager and Practice Education Toolkit modules will be developed during 2005/06.

HSPnet Releases Privacy Impact Assessment
A recent review of the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) for HSPnet resulted in positive assessments from the BC Ministry of Management Services and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commission for BC.

HSPnet Pilot Underway!
April 15 2003 was a "historic" moment for HSPnet, when Judy Lee from Kwantlen Nursing entered her user ID and password and became the first user to access the live HSPnet system.
