ANNUAL USER SURVEY RESULTS
October 8, 2004
Summary
We are pleased to report on the results of our first annual HSPnet User Survey, conducted on the BCAHC website over a one month period July 1 to 31, 2004. This report summarizes the survey results and makes recommendations for addressing the issues identified, and for responding to users' specific suggestions and concerns as appropriate.
In general the survey results are very positive, especially given that HSPnet was introduced only one year ago and most respondents had used the system for less than six months:
- 78% of users agree that new features are useful to them, and are released in a timely manner;
- 78% report that HSPnet is becoming easier to use over time, and 87% agree that HSPnet 's speed is improving over time;
- 84% of users reported that HSPnet has made a positive contribution to their work;
- 88% agree that HSPnet has made a contribution to placement processes in general.
Perhaps the most important result was that 86% of Placing Coordinators and 92% of Receiving Coordinators would recommend HSPnet to others in their position or discipline.
However the survey also indicates that satisfaction with ease
of use, user Support, and functionality varies considerably depending
on user role, with Destination Coordinators (at the unit or program
level) experiencing lower satisfaction levels than Placement Coordinators
for Placing or Agency agencies. This report recommends activities to identify
the source(s) of this variance and proposes specific improvements to address
user concerns. These recommendations will be published on the HSPnet website
for user input, and incorporated into the HSPnet Operating Plan for the
coming months.
