Collection of Personal Information of students via HSPnet is done under the authority of privacy legislation in place for each province, or in some cases under federal legislation if no provincial legislation applies. The applicable legislation and Privacy Officer information is listed below for each jurisdiction currently using HSPnet. If you need more information about protection of personal information in HSPnet or have any concerns or complaints regarding the handling of personal information, please contact the national HSPnet Privacy Officer at privacy@hspcanada.net or the local Privacy Officer for your province's jurisdiction.

British Columbia:
Requirements for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information are set by the The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (BC)

Alberta:
Requirements for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information are set by the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and collection of student information is authorized by the Post Secondary Learning Act (for public sector schools)
