Practice Education Guidelines
These guidelines were developed by the Practice Education Collaborative of BC (PECbc), with representation from BC health authorities, BC post-secondary education institutions, and HSPnet. PECbc led a project to develop standardized, inter-professional guidelines for health authorities, addressing policy issues relevant to clinical practice education. This work was enabled by and built upon substantial recent work at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH).
The guidelines will be published for BC users via the Practice Education Guidelines (PEG) module of HSPnet, to introduce users to the guidelines and their application, to track the extent of adoption and standardization province-wide, and to enable periodic review and update. The PEG module enables each province to publish their own set of standardized guideline templates for adoption by organizations, or any organization can enter their own policies into HSPnet or simply upload existing policy documents at the level of an educational program, health authority, or individual site or unit/program.
