Affiliation Agreements Manager

Practice education partners from health and education sectors reviewed "best practices" in academic affiliation agreement content and management and developed new resources and tools to enable strong and cooperative relationships between health authorities and education institutions.

Specifically, the project developed:

• a new Affiliation Agreement Template
• a document titled Managing Practice Education that introduces users to the agreements and provides practical information about roles and responsibilities of each organization involved in practice education, and
• an on-line Affiliation Agreement Manager module of HSPnet, to track affiliation agreement adoption, revisions, and status in participating organizations.

Development of these resources and tools was informed by subject matter experts in education administration, contract management, risk management and law. Recommendations were made for follow-up action to continue progress on improved management of affiliation agreements.
